Basics of Export Compliance
Seminar topics include U.S. Export Regulations, Complying with the EAR, Complying with the ITAR, Licensing Requirements, Commodity Jurisdiction/Classification, Export Compliance Management Program

Complying with U.S. Export Controls
The two-day program is led by BIS's professional counseling staff and provides an in-depth examination of the EAR. The program will cover the information exporters need to know to comply with U.S. export control requirements on commercial goods. We will focus on what items and activities are subject to the EAR; steps to take to determine the export licensing requirements for your item; how to determine your export control classification number (ECCN); when you can export or reexport without applying for a license; export clearance procedures and record keeping requirements; an overview of the Export Management and Compliance Program (EMCP) concepts; and real life examples in applying this information. Presenters will conduct a number of "hands-on" exercises that will prepare you to apply the regulations to your own company's export activities. This program is well suited for those who need a comprehensive understanding of their obligations under the EAR. Technical, policy, and enforcement professionals from BIS, as well as specialists from other agencies such as the Office of Foreign Assets Control and the Bureau of Census will participate in certain programs.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations
Do you know if your company’s products or services are subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations? Any item “specifically designed or modified” for something on the munitions list, will fall under these regulations and controls. Without proper training, your company could be at risk. Fines and penalties for violation of the ITAR are increasing so it is more important then ever to make sure your company is in compliance. Kansas Global Trade Service's ITAR training provides insight and understanding of the regulations, definitions and concepts unique to the ITAR. Training includes information on the following topics:

  • ITAR overview, objectives, and concepts
  • ITAR Jurisdiction
  • Licensing
  • Agreements
  • Enforcement Issues
  • Processing the Order
  • License Application & Management
